Guns in the Sky

I heard a man chanting “Guns in the Sky” on my walk in Central Park. He was close behind on the main road and sounded like a Black rapper. Of course I was surprised when I saw a balding, middle aged white man in a plaid shirt passing by. He looked like he was listening to music through earphones plugged into his iPhone. A woman with long brown hair rode by on a bike and he sang about loving that hair. I thought he was talking about the woman but turns out it was song lyrics from INXS’s “Guns in the Sky.” The Australian rock band was critiquing Star Wars—Reagan’s proposed missile defense system—guns in the sky instead of programs to help humanity.
